Dinara → Cetina → Peruča → Adriatic
Dinara belongs to Croatia’s high-karst world, built largely of limestone and dolomite. Its grasslands, scrub, forests, caves and sinkholes support a mosaic of habitats. The wider source area is also part of the Natura 2000 ecological network.
From the source, the Cetina moves south through fields before entering Lake Peruča. Downstream, the river continues through inland Dalmatia and ultimately reaches the Adriatic at Omiš. A spring visit becomes richer when seen as the first chapter of that full river journey.
The surrounding wet meadows and karst fields are not empty scenery. They are working ecological systems shaped by water, seasonal flooding, traditional land use and the geological architecture beneath them.
Dinara
A mountain wall of limestone, grassland and high-karst habitats.
The springs are protected. Stay on established access, avoid disturbing the water and vegetation, take all waste with you, and check current local rules before swimming, diving, drones or any activity that enters the spring. The strongest visit is the one that leaves the site unchanged.
